Do you know our android browsers can do more than just surfing and downloading? Well here’s something new for you if you don’t know this earlier. Browsers like chrome, firefox available on playstore are capable of browsing your local files. They are very light and quick in a browsing file in your SD Card as well as in your phone memory. But since they cannot perform functions like copy, cut, paste they are still unreplaceable by your file explorers.
This technique require no internet connection.
Here how it is done :-
1) For chrome
Type location you want to access in your URL bar like below :
It will browse the HTML version of a local file in sd card directory. It can be scrolled and surfed like a web page. By clicking on the first option ( parent directory ) can view the level up a directory.
Video and mp3 files can be browsed or played in android’s available external player as well as chrome’s inbuilt player.
Whenever you select the video it will play in your phone’s default selected player. If you didn’t choose the the default player, it will show pop-up asking the player you want to play in.
If you want video to play in chrome’s in build player, hold and select Open in new tab option.
It can also be played in full-screen mode by enabling the auto-rotation option from the setting.
This also has the same technique by typing this in URL bar like below :
We can again browse in the same way as in chrome.
Mozilla Firefox, unlike chrome, gives us the option to hide or unhide the system hidden object. You can toggle by option in top-right corner
By default, it plays the video and audio files within its inbuilt player just by clicking them.
